Begin with the total commitment
Think about all regular payments across the minimum term and add any upfront charges. If the handset and mobile service are billed separately, both may affect the total amount you pay.
A lower monthly figure does not always lead to a lower overall commitment if the agreement lasts longer or includes additional payments.
Read terms for price changes
Some contracts allow changes to charges during the term. Read the wording and understand how and when any adjustment would be calculated.
Check whether optional add-ons, extra data, roaming and out-of-allowance use can create additional costs.
Look ahead to the end of the agreement
Ask what happens when the agreed term ends. The mobile service may continue, payments may change, or further action may be needed depending on the arrangement.
